Types of Massage

Therapeutic
Massage

Combines techniques from various modalities, including Swedish, deep tissue, and sports massage.

Benefits

Excellent for ridding the body of tension, releasing tightness, reducing muscle pain, and providing the client with the therapeutic work needed to relax and regenerate their muscles.

Deep Tissue
Massage

Deep tissue massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. Special techniques utilizing the thumbs, elbows, and fists along with slow strokes, are used in combination to release chronic patterns of tension in the body and to loosen the connective tissue where muscles attach and knots form.

Benefits

Deep tissue massage helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue. It usually focuses on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during or right after the massage. You'll feel better than ever in a day or two.

Swedish
Massage

A classic European massage designed to increase circulation and muscle tone while relieving tension and stress throughout the body. Swedish massage uses a firm but gentle pressure along with smooth strokes.

Benefits

If you have chronic muscle fatigue, or if your lifestyle demands intense physical/mental work, Swedish is the best medicine.

Pre/Peri-Natal
Massage

Pregnancy creates significant physiological, structural, psychological, and spiritual changes in a woman's life. For many, the perinatal period until two weeks after childbearing, can be tumultuous. Massage therapy during this time offers a wide range of benefits to the expectant mother and her baby.

Benefits

This massage has been designed specifically to ease the discomforts of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.

Disclaimer

Clients must be at least 12 weeks pregnant for Prenatal massage. Clients that are considered high risk, or carrying multiples must present a note cleared by their doctor.
